My participation in snowmobiling and ORV activities is voluntary and subjects me to the possibility of\nphysical injury (which could be minimal\, serious\, and/or result in death) and loss of or damage to property\n(“Risks”).\nAcknowledgment and Assumption of Risk: I recognize the Risks associated with snowmobiling and ORV\nactivities and assume full responsibility for any claims arising from those Risks. Venue for any\nstate court proceeding shall be brought by Kalkaska County\, Michigan.\nEmergency Medical Authorization: I recognize situations may arise when emergency medical or dental care\nmay be necessary. I authorize KCSAS to render first aid and or to call for medical and/or dental care if\, in its\nopinion\, such medical or dental care is needed. SUMMARY:ORV Safety Class
DESCRIPTION:If you or someone you know has a child or you know of an adult who is ready to hit the trails this summer\, be sure to sign up to get their Safety Certificate. \nOn Saturday\, May 2\, 2026\, Kalkaska County Sand and Snow Foundation along with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources will host a one day in person class for ORV Safety. The class is free of charge\, but you must register for the class ahead of time as space is limited\, please commit early. The class offers in person instruction to train knowledgeable\, safe\, and responsible ORV trail users. Any ORV operator 12 to 16 years old is required to pass an approved ORV safety course to operate without adult supervision or to cross a roadway. There is not a minimum age for enrollment\, but attendees will need to read\, comprehend\, and successfully pass a written test to receive a safety certificate. The class will run from 9am to 4pm with a break for lunch. Lunch will be provided by the Kalkaska County Sand and Snow Foundation.
