What our members are saying:

I’m a bit of a Tomboy. I’ve been riding the Kalkaska trails since the early 70’s. Nearly 50-years later, I’m still hooked!

KCSAS is a great way to get outside and enjoy all four seasons. I highly recommend KCSAS and the many friendships I’ve made along the trail.

We love hosting “Ride In” events and socializing with all the club members and volunteers who take care of our trails. These events also help make riders aware of our products at the Starvation Lake General Store we keep stocked such as plugs, oils and lubricants, premium fuel, trail permits and so much more. Thanks Kalkaska Sand and Snow!

Tom Brown Owner of Starvation Lake General Store

I have been coming up to the Kalkaska area for all of my 32 trips around the sun! Have been riding four wheelers my whole life mostly on private property. I started snowmobiling in my college years and fell in love with it! A few years later I found myself riding SxS and snowmobiles in the Kalkaska area year round. I had always been interested in how the grooming worked and what they did. Last year I found Kalkaska Snowmobile Association on Facebook and joined the group, shortly after joining the group I officially joined the club, and shortly after that voted to turn the club into a dual purpose club (Snowmobile and ORV). Small backstory of myself, I have been around equipment my whole life and am a Field Service Technician for AIS Construction Equipment. During my first summer as a club member I ended up helping to facilitate an engine replacement on the club owned tractor. After finishing the engine I got to run the machine back to the fire barn. I have now been active in grading sand and grooming snow. This spring (2021) I was voted in as a member of the Board of Directors for Kalkaska County Sand and Snow (our new club name). I am very passionate about riding both Snowmobiles and ORVs and safety is paramount in both my riding style and my role as the Social Media chairman for the club as well! RIDE RIGHT! RIDE SOBER!! HAVE FUN!!!
